The Funny Farm BBQ Team began competing in late 2006 in one non-Kansas City Barbeques Society™ (KCBS) sanctioned event with two small smokers where we had a stroke of luck and placed second in pork. In 2007, we began turning our attention to events sanctioned by KCBS™. We moved up to a large trailer mounted smoker and greatly increased our sophistication. By the third competition, we were able to get our first call with ninth place in ribs.
We are very proud of our home-made sauces, marinades, injections, and rubs. All of these items are made from natural ingredients and spices. We are constantly looking to improve on all our products and procedures for the competition circuit and some day hope to commercially produce our Funny Farm BBQ Sauce.
The Funny Farm BBQ Team maintains a web site with information on barbequing, local barbeque competitions, and links to useful barbeque sites. Our site features updates from all the competitions we have entered or attended including slideshows set to music.
We are members of the Kansas City Barbeque Society™ and the Smoke Ring™ and the Ring of Fire™ web sites.
