Texas BBQ sauce is known to be a smoky tomato-based sauce. It tastes of spices, such as chiles and cumin and is tangy to the tongue. It is usually not put on the meat while cooking. In Texas, barbeque is often eaten with no sauce at all so as not to distract from the natural flavor of the meat in questions; which in Texas is generally beef. Cattlemen’s combines their Classic BBQ sauce with chili powder and liquid smoke to recreate the lip-smacking Texas style sauce.

Its ingredients make it not as sweet and thick as Kansas style sauce, nor as spicy and hot like Texas style. You can add a punch to your next meal by creating your own St. Louis style BBQ sauce by using Cattlemen's Sweet BBQ sauce and beer.

The Carolina style BBQ sauce is a sauce made with sweet and tangy notes. By combining sweet and tangy flavors it brings out the best grilled or smoked pork and chicken. There is a difference between North and South Carolina sauces. North Carolina sauce is a combination of liquid vinegar and pepper flakes where as South Carolina combines mustard, vinegar, black pepper and a light or thick tomato base. Cattlemen's combines ingredients of both sauces with their Gold BBQ sauce and vinegar and pepper flakes to create the Carolina style BBQ sauce.

Kansas style barbeque sauce is the most common sauce used nationwide. It is probably because of its thick tomato-based sauce and red-brown color. Or maybe it's because of the sweet and spicy elements it contains. Kansas style BBQ sauce is not about the types of meats it's used on but more about the different techniques used while cooking. To create your own Kansas style sauce you can combine Cattlemen's Classic BBQ sauce with brown sugar and a spicy brown mustard.
